CCI Investment Management Limited (CCIIM) has been established by Catholic Church Insurances Limited (CCI) to provide an investment service within the Church solely for the use of Catholic Church entities.

The focus of our business will be to meet the diverse needs of all Catholic Church institutions through delivering a range of competitive, professionally managed investment services.

Charitable Investment Scheme

The Trusts have been registered by ASIC as a Charitable Investment Scheme exempt from compliance with the fundraising and managed investment provisions of the Corporations Law. CCIIM is not required to hold an ASIC Dealers Licence.

The Catholic Church owned Trustee/Manager

CCIIM, an unlisted public company limited by shares is 100% owned by CCI, also an unlisted public company limited by shares. CCI has capitalised CCIIM through providing a combination of equity and debt funding on commercial terms. The shareholders of CCI include representatives of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, all Archdioceses and Dioceses and the majority of the Religious Institutes.

In the past 29 years, CCI has returned more than $188 million to the Church from surpluses achieved. As a subsidiary, CCIIM is also structured to deliver financial benefits to Church investors. CCIIM and CCI are both exempt from income tax under Section 50-5 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

The CCI group is a major manager of superannuation and investment funds in Australia. Over the years it has experienced significant growth in its business with funds under management within the CCI group in excess of $640 million (as at 30 June 2007).

CCIIM will draw on the experience and resources of CCI to continue the proud CCI tradition of service offered with competence and confidentiality to those engaged in the Church and its missions. This service is based on mutual and cooperative principles.

CCIIM serves only Catholic Institutions

CCIIM is Church-owned. Our aim is to provide the utmost protection for the Catholic Church, its assets and its people. We are committed to delivering service and management excellence, without losing sight of our cooperative principles and the mutual values that remain central to our philosophy.

There is no other investment company in Australia that so fully understands the unique needs of Church organisations.

The investment service has been specially designed for the long term investment of Church funds to ensure capital resources are available for the care of clergy and religious in advanced age and infirmity and support of the day by day engagement of the Church in its pastoral missions. CCIIM has a national marketing presence. Operating through the CCI Australia-wide State offices, CCIIM is well positioned to deliver investment services to the Catholic Church community.

Investment products

CCIIM is the Trustee/Manager of the Trusts detailed on pages 8–10 in this Information Memorandum. Three investment alternatives are offered through a Master Trust structure. These products consist of the CCIIM Balanced Trust, the CCIIM Growth Trust and the CCIIM Catholic Values Trust. All Trusts offer a mixture of defensive assets, including a range of fixed interest products and cash and Growth assets including property, Australian and overseas equities. The Growth Trust has a higher weighting towards equities than that of the Balanced and Catholic Values Trust.

CCIIM also offers the CCIIM Income Trust. The Income Trust aims to provide investors with quarterly distribution and potential for capital growth by outperforming the 90 day bank bill index over rolling three year periods.

Who can invest

The Trusts are available only to those entities within and associated with the Catholic Church. In line with industry practice for wholesale investment products, an initial investment amount of at least $250,000 is required to invest. Subsequent deposits must be for an amount of at least $10,000.

Confidentiality

CCIIM will maintain the rigorous standard of client confidentiality Church institutions have come to expect from CCI. Senior CCI staff regularly liaise with Church authorities and are privy to information of a highly sensitive nature. In such circumstances, strict confidentiality is always paramount. The high reputation enjoyed by Catholic schools, hospitals and other healthcare and welfare agencies of the Church is protected by the confidential manner in which the CCI group operates. CCIIM will uphold comparable standards.
