Investment Management Directors
Corporate Governance
CCIIM is governed by a Board of Directors, all of whom are experienced
in investments or managing the affairs of the Church. The Directors
appointments have been made in consultation with the Australian Catholic
Bishops Conference and the Australian Conference of Leaders of Religious
Institutes.
The executive team comprising CCI executives and operating under
the direction of the Board of Directors of CCIIM, is committed to
serving the Church community.
T.J.R. O'Brien, Chairman AM
Tom
O' Brien was the Chief Executive Officer for Ernst & Young in
Melbourne until 1997. Tom's management role over a period of twelve
years involved the development, growth, direction, coordination and
management of 600-700 people, providing professional services to the
business community including many major national and international
corporate, Government-owned or privatised enterprises and Statutory
Boards. Tom was also the National Chairman of Ernst & Young Australia
in 1995 and 1996. Before his involvement in the management of the
practice, Tom was a leading corporate tax and corporate finance partner.
Since retiring from the partnership in 1998, Tom has pursued a career
as a company director and currently serves on a number of Boards including
Advent Ltd, Defence Housing Authority, Mercy Health & Aged Care
Inc. and Virtual Communities Pty Ltd and is Chairman of St Vincents
& Mercy Private Hospital Ltd, Catholic Telecommunications, Sustainable
Technologies Australia Limited and Triangle Group Pty Ltd.
Tom has also contributed a considerable amount of time to community
activities for various organisations, both as an Advisory Board member
and as Chairman of a number of Appeal Committees including The Small
Mercies Appeal and The Smith Family Melbourne Centre Appeal.
P.E. Bokeyar, Director
Peter
Bokeyar is Senior Manager, Financial Markets for Westpac Banking Corporation
in NSW. In his present role he is responsible for the distribution
of Financial Markets Products and Services to the Bank's Business
Banking client base in NSW. Peter has worked for Westpac Banking Corporation
for 12 years in various roles both in the Retail and Wholesale parts
of the Bank.
Peter has a Bachelor of Economics degree (Macquarie) with a Business
Finance major and received his secondary education at St Joseph's
College, Hunters Hill.
Peter is a licensed securities dealer with accreditation from the
Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA).
W.R. d'Apice, Director
Bill
d'Apice was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1977. He
has been Managing Partner and is currently Chairman of Partners of
Makinson & d'Apice, Solicitors. His principal areas of legal practice
have been in Property Law (he has been accredited as a Specialist
by the Law Society of NSW in Property Law) and Commercial Law. He
is the Director, Asia/Pacific Region, for the international legal
network, LaWorld, and recently chaired the American regional meeting
of LaWorld.
Bill is a principal legal advisor to the Australian Catholic Bishops
Conference, the Archdiocese of Sydney and other Dioceses, Religious
Institutes, Parishes, Agencies and Church organisations.
He is a Chairman of Catholic Church Insurances Limited and serves
on a number of Boards of public and private companies and Catholic
Development Funds. He is a member of several committees including
Archdiocesan, Diocesan and Parish finance committees and Project Control
Groups for property developments.
Bill is heavily involved in local community issues, most recently
as President of the Greenwich Community Association and previously
as an elected Councillor on Lane Cove Council.
P.J. Dwyer, Director
Paula
Dwyers background is in investment, finance and accounting.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Melbourne University, is
an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, an Affiliate
of the Securities Institute of Australia and a Fellow of the Institute
of Company Directors.
Up to December 2000, Paula ran a wholesale investment
company which maintained both trading and long term-investment portfolios.
Prior to this she was actively involved in the reform of and private
investment in public infrastructure and the provision of advice on
mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and business development.
In addition to CCIIM, where she is also Chairman of
the Audit and Compliance Committee, Paula is also a non-executive
Director of the following companies:
- CoInvest Limited - the construction industry long service leave
fund
- Alpha Investment Management Pty. Limited - a wholesale Australian
Equities investment management company.
Her past appointments include serving as a Deputy Director
of Government Superannuation Office and Emergency Services Superannuation
Scheme and as a member of the Victorian Casino and Gaming Authority,
the Victorian Gaming Commission and Chartered Accountants in Business.
J.A (Tony) Killen , Director
Tony recently joined the CCIIM Board following the retirement of Ray
Ebbage. Tony is also a non-executive Director of Catholic Church Insurances Limited. Tony has extensive experience over wide range of businesses and financial services - life and general insurance, funds management, investment banking, financial planning, actuarial consulting, non-bank financial institutions and property development - including exposure to Asia and New Zealand, and to the Government and not for profit sectors.
Tony was previously Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Mutual Holdings Limited (now AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Limited) and is currently Chairman of the Sisters of Charity Health Service Limited and the Sisters of Charity Healthcare Australia Limited, and a Director of Equity Trustees Limited, IRESS Market Technology Limited and Templeton Global Group Fund.
Tony is also a member of the Diocesan Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
